Memorandum of Agreement

Between The Member Tribes
of the Solid Waste Advisory Network

As governments and leaders of the Tribes who participate in the consortium known as the Tribal Solid Waste Advisory Network, we hereby agree to the following:

  • As populations on our reservations grow, so does the need to provide adequate resource management and promote the health and welfare of our Tribal members.

  • As populations grow, so does the waste associated with growth. It is the duty of all to manage our own waste, but it is also the duty of the Tribe to provide adequate solid waste management in order to protect all reservation residents from the health dangers associated with solid waste, in a way that is economically and environmentally feasible.

  • That solid waste management is a part of good resource management.

  • To make solid waste management a priority along the with natural resources impacted by solid waste, such as clean water, productive fisheries, healthy wildlife, safe recreation, and protection from the spread of disease.

  • To support the efforts each of the member Tribes and the staff who represent the Network.
